‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:38-39

‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:38-39

“So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!” So they took his advice,”

The verses prior describe another conflict between the apostles and the religious leaders. The religious leaders are continuing to try and stop the apostles from preaching about the risen Christ with no success. Finally a religious leader by the name of Gamaliel stands up and tells the other leaders to leave them alone, allow this “fad” to fizzle out. And, if for some reason it doesn’t, then allow it’s enduring message prove it’s divine.

This is encouraging because, when we are walking in what God has called us to do we can take heart knowing nothing can overthrow His will and purpose. On the contrary, when we walk in our own will and strength our plans tend to fail and fizzle out.

Success derives from His plan not ours, so if you want to be successful do what He wants not what you want.
